Delicious creamy tasting hummus makes a great snack with raw vege sticks or grainy crackers. Start with this basic recipe and then you can experiment with adding other flavours to it. Try adding in roasted red capsicum or pumpkin, sun dried tomatoes, chilli or paprika.
1 Can of chick peas drained and rinsed
1 Tbsp tahini
2 Tbsp lemon juice or more to taste
2 Garlic cloves crushed
1 Tsp ground cumin
4 Tbsp water
2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Pinch of salt and pepper to taste
Blend all ingredients to a puree and keep refrigerated.
